Princess Mary has shared a cryptic post about loneliness and the need for positive human relationships ahead of Christmas.
The post comes days after the 51-year-old Tasmanian-born princess reconnected with her husband Crown Prince Frederik, 55, and three of their children in New Zealand.
It's been a month since the Danish royal family was rocked by rumors of an alleged affair between the future king and Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova, but he and Mary have adopted a “business as normal” attitude as the festive season begins.
In the letter, posted on the Mary Foundation's website, the future queen reflects on the past year – and says she thinks it was shorter than previous years.
“And so much has happened at the same time that it's impossible to put it all into words,” she continued.

It's been a month since the Danish royal family was rocked by rumors of an alleged affair between the future king and Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova (the couple were pictured on a night out in Madrid in November).
The couple appeared to be on their way to a flamenco show at the Corral de la Morería in Madrid. They are pictured outside the venue at around 1am
In an excerpt posted on the Danish royal family's official Instagram account, there was speculation that the princess was using her foundation to address the rumors that rocked her family.
“We need each other if we want to be successful.” And that doesn’t just apply in the world of work and for those of us who fight against social isolation,” it says.
“This applies to all of us.” “People need people.”
The post and powerful words were featured alongside a beautiful image of the king in the snow.
She wore a purple jacket under a warm wool coat and smiled gently at the camera.

“The Danish royal family is lucky to have you.” I hope your husband realizes that he has embarrassed you and his children immeasurably. “You'll make an amazing queen,” one fan commented.
Another wrote: “I think this is a sad year for Mary, her husband's (alleged) betrayal is public.” What a brave woman, she can handle anything. I just adore her.'
Some defended the royals and called for people to stop talking about the alleged affair.
But these people were often beaten up by others.
“Did you see the movie from that morning where he's walking around the city with his suitcase and no pet and standing at a public bus stop waiting to be picked up? He made a mockery of himself, Mary and many others! “It’s naive to think he’s completely innocent,” one woman wrote.
She said it didn't matter if there was an affair – the fact that he was in Spain with another woman was enough.
Others simply thanked her for her Christmas greeting.

“You are so wonderful, our beautiful crown princess,” one fan wrote, echoing the sentiments of dozens of others.
Princess Mary landed in New Zealand on December 18th – where she was met by Prince Frederik and her eldest daughter Isabella.
The Crown Princess has been in Australia since December 6th with her twin Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine and maintained contact with her family.
The group of three were photographed on the Sydney Harbor Bridge – but the photo taken of each climber was quickly removed from the tour operator's Instagram account.
The Princess's visit to Australia marks her most reserved return home ever – with many speculating that the recent furore surrounding her marriage is to blame.
