Junior World Championship: Canada makes short work of the “old” Danes

Team Canada Junior (ECJ) had no trouble avoiding a team made up of Danish players under the age of 25 in Malmö on Tuesday.

The Maple Leaf representatives, all of whom are 20 years old or younger, won 8-0 in this match, which was intended as a preparatory duel for the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.

Quebecer Jordan Dumais had fun with a goal and two assists. Top prospect for the upcoming draft Macklin Celebrini received the same performance as the Halifax Mooseheads' color bearer.

Fraser Minten and Denton Mateychuk also stood out with two goals each.

Mathis Rousseau and Samuel St-Hilaire shared the work in front of the cages. The two natives of La Belle Province made five and ten stops respectively.

Boston Bruins forward Matthew Poitras, who was loaned to ÉCJ the day before, was not at the meeting. He could make his debut on Friday when Canada takes on Switzerland in a preseason clash.

The World Juniors will take place from December 26th to January 5th in Gothenburg, Sweden. Maple Leaf representatives will be in action from day one of the prestigious competition against Finland.
