Angry spectators: When Michael Bublé cancels his ice hockey visit – Le Journal de Québec

Michael Bublé told the sports podcast Spitting Chiclets When he canceled a concert in 2011 to attend the gameO7 of the Canucks' Stanley Cup Finals in Vancouver and the crowd's reaction when he finally put on his show.

On June 15, 2011, Michael Bublé had an appointment in Uncasville, Connecticut to perform a concert. However, the event was postponed until the next day because Bublé wanted to attend the final game of the Stanley Cup Final between the Canucks and the Boston Bruins, which was taking place in Vancouver. However, the crowd didn't like this reason for cancellation and didn't hesitate to let him know the next day.

“People literally came wanting to quit,” the suburban Vancouver singer tells hosts and former NHL players Paul Bissonnette and Ryan Withney. “They booed me, sent me away and left,” he remembers, still visibly a little uncomfortable.

The singer of our Christmas classics then admits that he regrets his decision… or rather, his team's defeat.

“There was an error. If I had to do it again, I would do it differently […] If the Canucks had won, I would certainly say it was worth it, but they lost and that sucks,” he says.

A friend of Roberto Luongo

Michael Bublé attended the induction ceremony of retired Quebec goaltender Roberto Luongo into the Vancouver Canucks' Ring of Honor on December 14.

“It was nice to see him with his family, his children have grown up so much. It was emotional, he absolutely deserved it,” he said.
