Veteran Puerto Rican filmmaker Marcos Zurinaga is mourning the death of his daughter Nacha Zurinaga, the Puerto Rican Society of Cinematographers confirmed through a condolence message on social networks.
“We deeply regret the death of our colleague Nacha Zurinaga, the daughter of our friend Marcos Zurinaga,” reads the message from the Puerto Rican Society of Cinematographers on Instagram.
“The Puerto Rican Society of Cinematographers shares the pain of our colleague and friend Marcos Zurinaga and his family over the death of his daughter Nacha Zurinaga. We hug all your family members and colleagues in the industry during this difficult time and wish peace for everyone. May his spirit ascend to the Eternal Light,” the organization’s obituary reads.
The death of Nacha, who, like her father, dedicated herself to the seventh art, is still unknown. Marcos Zurinaga excels as a feature film director “La Gran Fiesta”, “Tango Bar” and “The Disappearance of García Lorca” and owner of Zaga Films. His daughter appeared in the productions of the Hollywood films Fast Five (2011), Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011) and The Men Who Stare at Goats (2009), among others.
Nacha also worked in the real estate sector in Puerto Rico.
The actress Eyra Agüero Joubert, who is also grieving the recent death of his father, lamented the death of Nacha, whom he referred to as “his father's sisters.” The father of the actress from the show “Alexandra at 12” died on December 11, 2023.
