In the wild new interview, Burchett, R-Tenn., echoed the comments of former Rep. Madison Cawthorn, R-N.C. Last year he was essentially blackmailed by his own party.
Burchett explained that “powerful people” who “write big checks” were behind extortion schemes to protect their portfolios.
“Why on earth would good conservatives vote for crazy things like we've seen in Congress?” He continued. 'Here's how it works:'

“You're visiting, you're out of the country or out of town or you're at a motel or at a bar in DC and whatever you like – women, men, whatever – and they're there.” very attractive and they laugh at your jokes. And you buy them a drink. The next thing you know, you're naked in the motel room with them.
“Next thing you know, you’re about to take an important vote. And what happens? A well-dressed person comes out and whispers in your ear, “Hey, man, there's tape recordings of you.” Or, “Were you in a motel room with whoever or whatever?” And then you think, “Oh ” and [they] said, “You really shouldn’t vote for this thing.”
“They know what they're getting at,” Burchett said of the wealthy Americans who hold the strings he described. “You know, if it involves women, drugs, or alcohol, it will find you.”
Burchett spoke with podcast host Benny Johnson, who raised Senator Marsha Blackburn's calls for the release of Jeffrey Epstein's flight logs and client lists, only to be met with silence.
The outspoken Republican, one of the eight who ousted Kevin McCarthy from the speakership, also claimed Kevin Spacey's “House of Cards” was more of a documentary than fiction.
Just last year in March, Cawthorn drew attention throughout Congress – and was reprimanded by then-GOP Chairman Kevin McCarthy – for claiming he had been invited to cocaine orgies. He later lost a primary.
“The sexual perversion that's going on in Washington…As a young man in Washington, where the average age is probably 60 or 70, I look at all these people – many of them I've looked up to throughout my life. Life…then suddenly you're invited to say, “Hey, we're going to have some kind of sexual encounter at one of our houses.” “You should come,” for example: What did you just ask me to come to? And then you realize they're inviting you to an orgy.'

“There are some people who are leading the movement that's trying to eliminate addiction in our country, and then you watch them, you know, take a big hit of cocaine in front of them, and it's like, Wow, that is wild.”
Burchett's comments also come at a time when not one, but two sex tape incidents have been reported in the hallowed halls of Congress.
The first was distributed after it was filmed in a Senate hearing room and led to the firing of a young staffer for Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md. Another pair of tapes reportedly sparked an investigation into the office of Rep. Dan Newhouse, R-Washington, although no staffer was ever conclusively linked to the tapes.
One of the videos from 2022 allegedly showed a man having fun in a House office building, recognizable by the usual Capitol House furniture and carpeting, as well as a branded mouse pad. A second video shows two men engaging in sexual activity in a different office setting. Their faces are not visible.
