Nizamettin Gursu proposed to his girlfriend Yesim Demir at this place, known for its views and magnificent sunsets.

However, the woman refused and the man became angry, reports the New York Post. The 39-year-old woman who fell 30 meters did not die immediately, but a few minutes later.

The investigation concluded that the incident, which received global media coverage, was not an incident.

Investigators reportedly found evidence of a violent fight.

According to the suspect's version, the woman responded yes to his marriage proposal. He was just getting food and drinks from his car when he heard a blood-curdling scream.

He claimed he rushed to the scene and saw his future wife fall off the cliff.

Investigators also discovered that the ring he had given her had remained in the box, a rather strange fact if she had consented.

Suspicions grew after broken glasses and a broken speaker were discovered at the couple's engagement venue.

The murdered woman's family also told authorities that she had planned to end her relationship with Gursu and had not accepted his marriage proposal.

Her family also said she suffered from panic attacks and would never have willingly stood so close to the edge of a cliff.

Gursu's arrest came after Demir's family filed a complaint against him.

At the time of his death, Gursu was playing the role of the heartbroken fiancé and told police that they decided to get engaged on the spot because they thought it would be romantic.

“We chose it to keep a romantic memory after the marriage proposal. We drank alcohol. Everything happened at the same time. She lost her balance and fell,” he said at the time.

The man is being held while he awaits trial.
