In the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, both sides reported today that they were repelling enemy airstrikes. The Ukrainian military said it shot down three Russian fighter-bombers and 24 of 28 Russian drones.

Ukraine reported shooting down three Russian Sukhoi SU-34 fighter jets. This happened at noon today in the southern section – Kherson region, in the south of the country – said the head of the Ukrainian Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk, via Telegram. No evidence of the attacks has been published. Russian military observers confirmed at least one shot down.
Two injured in Kyiv
Iranian-made drones were destroyed in southern, western and central Ukraine overnight. There were two injured in the capital Kiev. Mayor Vitaly Klitschko had previously announced that a high-rise building had caught fire as a result of a drone strike.
According to the Kiev military administration, three private houses were damaged by falling debris. A fire broke out in a building structure but was quickly extinguished. The airstrikes lasted more than two hours, the head of the military administration, Ruslan Kravchenko, was quoted as saying by state news agency Ukrinform. “There were no impacts on critical infrastructure,” he added.
Netherlands promises Ukraine 18 fighter jets
Meanwhile, the Netherlands announced that it would deliver 18 F-16 fighters to Ukraine. The Netherlands had already agreed to make the machines available for training Ukrainian pilots in Romania. It has now been officially decided to also deliver the F-16 to Ukraine.
