Police in the Czech Republic on Friday released intense body camera footage showing officers at Prague University immediately after the scene of the country's deadliest mass shooting on Thursday.

Officers can be seen moving through the building with guns drawn and shouting, tending to injured students in classrooms. At some point they break through a door that was barricaded with chairs and desks.

In a heartbreaking scene, officers carry an injured victim out of the building as she can be heard moaning in pain.

At least 14 people died and 25 others were injured, the Czech police chief said at a news conference on Thursday evening, revising an earlier figure that said there were 15 dead and at least 30 injured.

Local media identified the suspect as David Kozák, 24, a student at the school where he caused terror, police said.

Authorities said on Thursday evening local time that they had received information about the suspected gunman in the deadly mass shooting before he caused terror at Charles University.

Police received a tip that he was on his way to Prague from his hometown of Hostouň – just a 30-minute drive from the Czech city – and was planning to take his own life, CNN reported.

Police knew that the 24-year-old was giving a lecture at the university at 2 p.m. local time (8 a.m. EST) and evacuated the building where that course was supposed to take place, Czech police chief Martin Vondrášek said in a press conference.

He added that they then received a call about a shooting at another campus building.

Prague police said the gunman who killed 15 people at the university he attended was found dead on a balcony – and they described the suspect in disturbing terms.

The terrible event was “well thought out, a terrible act,” Prague police chief Martin Vondrasek said on Thursday, according to British publication The Independent.

Police also said they believed the 24-year-old had killed his father earlier in the day and was planning to kill himself.

He legally owned several guns and was an excellent student, police added.

According to Czech police, Kozak is said to have murdered his father and shot at least 15 people at Charles University before turning the gun on himself. Czech police say 24-year-old David Kozak allegedly killed his own father before fatally shooting at least 15 people at Charles University in Prague.novinky.cz

It is not yet known whether the gunman was shot by police or himself, while officials said there was “no indication he had an accomplice.”

The gunman who opened fire at Charles University in Prague reportedly killed his father before the mass shooting.

The 24-year-old gunman's father was found dead on Thursday, the Independent reported, citing a Czech journalist who spoke to police.

Video circulating online shows Charles University students jumping out of windows to escape the shooter:

The unidentified suspect in a mass shooting at a school in Prague was a university student, the local police chief said.

At least 15 people were confirmed dead, police added.
