American actor Charlie Sheen was attacked in his villa in Malibu, California, police reported this Friday (22). A suspect was arrested and charged with assault and robbery.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a statement that it received a report of an “assault/disturbance” at the “Two and a Half Men” star's home.
“Upon contacting the involved parties, agents identified Charlie Sheen as the victim of an assault,” he said.
The suspect, identified as Electra Schrock, was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, use of force likely to cause serious injury and residential burglary, according to the sheriff's department.
Entertainment website TMZ reported that 47yearold Electra was Sheen's neighbor and that she “burst into the house and attacked him when he opened the door.”
“We're told she ripped Charlie's shirt off and tried to strangle him,” TMZ reported, adding that Sheen was examined by paramedics but not taken to the hospital.
TMZ reported that this was not the first argument between the neighbors and that a previous incident involved a sticky liquid being spilled on Sheen's vehicle.
Charlie Sheen, 58 years old, is a Hollywood actor known for his “bad boy” style, with episodes including drug abuse, destructive violence and relationships with porn actresses. He starred in successful films such as Platoon, Wall Street: Power and Greed and The Young Guns.
Sheen's television career includes his appearance in the series “Spin City” and as the protagonist in “Two and a Half Men”, loosely inspired by his reception as a diehard party boy.
