At the small Vatry airport, about 150 kilometers east of Paris, a plane has been blocked for over a day because two of the passengers are suspected of being involved in human trafficking-related activities. The plane, carrying 303 people of Indian nationality, left the United Arab Emirates on Thursday and flew to Managua, the capital of Nicaragua. However, he remained stuck in France, where he had stopped to refuel after the crew received an anonymous tip about the presence of the two suspects. The news was released on Friday and the suspects were taken into custody.
Local authorities said they had opened an investigation into the flight operated by Romanian airline Legend Airlines and were interviewing passengers. It is possible that some of them are irregular migrants.
The passengers initially remained on board the aircraft, but were then let off the plane and a waiting area with beds was set up in the main hall of the airport.
