The Backstreet Boys singer loses his third brother and sees the family fall apart once and for all in trouble the

The life of Nickolas Gene Carter, Nick of the band Backstreet Boys, is a succession of successes, controversies and tragedies. Another bad chapter is happening.

The websites TMZ and People announced the death of his sister Bobbie Jean Carter at the age of 41. The cause was not disclosed. She leaves behind an eightyearold daughter, Bella.

In June, the makeup artist was arrested on charges of stealing stationery from a store and having more than the permitted amount of narcotics in her bag.

This is the third brother Nick Carter has lost in 11 years. The first to die in 2012 was Leslie, 25, of a drug overdose.

In November last year, fellow singer Aaron Carter, 34, accidentally drowned in the bathtub at his home. The autopsy revealed the use of potentially dangerous drugs.

The Carter family has a complicated history. Parents Jane and Robert (died 2017) frequently attacked each other and abused alcohol. Last May, the matriarch was arrested after attacking her nowhusband in a TV volume dispute.

Nick and his brothers grew up in a home full of shouting, threats and physical violence. The singer himself is facing problems: he is the target of three allegations of sexual crimes. He denies wronging the women who reported him.

The teen idol, who turns 44 at the end of January, has been in a relationship with influencer Lauren Kitt since 2008, with whom he has three children (Odin, Saoirse and Pearl).

After coming to Brazil earlier this year for the Backstreet Boys shows, Nick will return to the country alone for a performance on his Who I Am tour.

On January 17, he will take the stage at Audio, a venue with a capacity of 3,000 people in the West Zone of São Paulo.
