Daisy, who has had dramatic weight loss since giving up alcohol, said she drinks to feel less “anxious” in social situations.

She added: “But I got such crippling hangover anxiety that I had suicidal thoughts the next day.”

Daisy said giving up alcohol meant she could spend more time with her children Jack and Pip, who she shared with ex Will.

The This Country star described her new husband Ant, from Bristol, as “the sweetest, kindest and most relaxed man” she had ever met.

Daisy and Ant, who now live together, made their romance public at the BAFTA TV Awards where they shared a passionate kiss.

The boyfriend is said to be a Bristol-based artist and friends claim the actress is head over heels in love.

A source told The Sun at the time: “Daisy is head over heels in love with her new man and has really enjoyed getting to know him away from the spotlight.”

“They lead a normal life together most of the time and stunned fans when they recently appeared together at a flea market.”

“He gets on very well with Daisy’s father Paul and seems to have a really calming influence on Daisy after a hectic period following the breakdown of her marriage.”

The couple were first spotted together at a flea market in Cheltenham, but the TV BAFTA Awards appear to be their first significant public appearance as a couple.

Daisy has been pictured looking incredible at several events throughout the year and has been open about her weight loss.

The actress, who was photographed flaunting her slim figure at a Legoland launch event in October, went on a keto (low-carb, high-fat) diet to lose weight post-lockdown.

However, she confessed that she has since been inundated with messages telling her that she is “no longer funny” since changing her appearance.

Speaking about her appearance, the mother-of-two said: “I'm so into body positivity, but when I was at my best I was at my most miserable and had a massive food addiction.”

Daisy, who split from husband Will Weston in July 2021 after almost two years of marriage, continued: “I wasn't healthy.” I couldn't breathe when I went up the stairs. I was so unhappy.

“And I got some messages like, 'Well, now that you've lost weight, you're not funny anymore.'

“What the hell? Why do women have to be damn fat to be funny?

“That makes me so angry. I stand up for everyone. I think everyone should be happy with their body. But I wasn't.'
