- The house where Beyoncé lived from birth to five years old was damaged in a morning fire
- The cause of the fire is currently unknown, according to the fire department
A fire destroyed the childhood home of Texas-born singing icon Beyoncé on Christmas morning.
According to local television station KTRK, the two-story house on Rosedale Street began burning at 2 a.m. Monday in Houston's Third Ward neighborhood.
The brick house has been home to the “Ring The Alarm” singer and her parents since she was born.
“This is where it all started – she lived there until 1986 – the first five years of her life,” Keith Rosen, who runs Houston Historical Tours, told .
The Knowles family moved out of the house decades ago and has had several owners since then, Rosen said.

According to local media reports, the fire broke out around 2 a.m. on Monday
For her stay in her hometown of Houston as part of the Renaissance World Tour in September, Beyonce wore a stunning custom Balmain gown by Olivier Rousteing, complete with a daring slit and glittering rose detailing
The current residents – a couple and two young children – escaped the flames in their Christmas pajamas and, most importantly, unharmed.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated, the fire department said.
The greatest damage occurred on the second floor, which was engulfed in fire when the fire department arrived.
“They did a great job. I can say we had the fire really well under control in less than 10 minutes,” Houston Fire Department Chief Justin Barnes told the local outlet.
Firefighters cut into the attic and eaves to make sure the fire was out, Houston's Fox station reported.

Beyoncé fans pose in front of her childhood home during a Keith Rosen tour
Keith Rosen has been offering Beyonce tours in Houston since 2017, which include a stop at her former home on Rosedale Street
Rosen, who has been hosting Beyonce tours for members of BeyHive, as her fan base is known, since 2017, lamented the fire, adding that it was one of the two most popular stops on his tourist trips.
“The people who go on these tours are Beyoncé devotees and fanatics. “Visiting the house where she once lived is like traveling to Bethlehem – the birthplace of her leader,” he noted.
“This is one of the two most popular stops on the tour, the other being the house in Parkwood where the family lived after moving out of the house in Rosedale.” She had a recording studio there. “Almost 100 percent of people come out to photograph me, to take selfies.”
