The 58-year-old actor, who revealed he quit drinking after disappointing his daughter, shocked fans when he pleaded guilty to assaulting his then-wife Brooke Mueller in August 2010 – following an argument on Christmas Day and an emergency call.

The former couple gave birth to their twin sons in March 2009 – but just nine months later police were called to their home on Christmas Day over a domestic dispute.
Sheen – then the highest-paid actor on television, earning $500,000 per episode for “Two and a Half Men” – was accused of using a weapon before being arrested for allegedly attacking his wife.
Brooke claimed to police that the actor held a knife to her throat and threatened her, but she later tried to recant her statement.
He was detained by police after a 911 call came in from a home in Aspen, Colorado, shortly after 8:30 a.m.
He was arrested on three charges: second-degree assault, which is often referred to as actual bodily harm, threatening behavior and criminal deception or criminal damage to property. He was eventually released on bail after paying a £5,000 deposit.

A protective order was issued and Charlie pleaded guilty to a reduced charge – assault – which would keep him out of prison.
AP reported at the time that Charlie was sentenced to 30 days of rehab, 30 days of probation and 36 hours of anger management.
A year later the couple separated. Months later, the actor engaged in a series of now-infamous public meltdowns in early 2011, which led to him being fired from his hit sitcom Two And A Half Men.

Sheen and Mueller agreed to a custody agreement in 2011 and finalized their divorce shortly thereafter.
But Brooke allegedly created an “unsafe” environment for the twins and they were removed from their home in 2013.
Charlie's ex-wife Denise Richards became her legal guardian while Brooke went back into rehab for the 21st time.
But after a year, the “Wild Things” star wrote to the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to say she could no longer care for the boys because they were allegedly violent toward her daughters and Dogs broke out, TMZ reported.
In 2019, Brooke checked into a rehab facility again and Charlie began co-parenting the twins with his and the actress' parents.

Charlie opened up to The Blast about Brooke's stay in rehab, saying that her twin sons are well cared for between him and their grandparents.
“Brooke is currently in hiding for the umpteenth billionth time (again!) and is looking for the help she needs,” Sheen told the outlet.
“Myself and the boys' two amazing sets of grandparents continue to love seeking refuge and protecting Bob and Max from the arbitrary decisions and unsightly behavior that their mother refuses to stamp out once and for all.”
Sheen said: “These wonderful boys need their mother… and hopefully one day they will finally have one… until then we have that in every way.”
Last year, Sheen and Mueller settled their year-long child support case after Charlie filed a request for reduced payments to his children in 2018.
Earlier this month, Sheen claimed he was a “single father” to his twin sons and that their mother was “not too much in the picture at the moment” (pictured in 2009).
“I was unable to find steady employment and was blacklisted in many areas of the entertainment industry,” Sheen said at the time, estimating that he paid both Mueller and Richards about 9.5 percent of his annual gross income.

Even in this alleged telephone conversation with Richards, Sheen didn't leave it at that and continued to talk about the couple's two daughters; “They will live alone in a villa without their mother, without their mother, and finally have a relationship with their father.”
Richards also provided text message conversations between her and Sheen from the days after she returned to Los Angeles following her trip to Montana, including one in which Sheen wrote; “I’m going to make you live in fear one day, you piece of shit.”
In another text exchange at the time, he told Richards that he would “put a bullet in her head.”
Shortly afterward, Richards claims she overheard a phone conversation in which Sheen called her daughter Lola a “fucking pig woman” while also telling the child, “I'm going to kill you, and I'm going to kill your mother.”
Despite all this, a source close to Sheen told Page Six that he was confused by the lawsuit, especially after funding Richard's “princess lifestyle” for a decade.
“You'd think a woman getting $10 million tax-free for two years of marriage would be happy!” Not to mention the extra $660,000 a year for the last 10 years,” the source said.

In 2021, it was revealed that Sheen Richards would no longer have to pay child support after his daughter Sami moved in with him.
Sheen has had 100 percent custody of Sami and his daughter Lola since April of this year, with the judge indicating no child support would apply retroactively to April 1, 2021, when he began caring for the girls full-time.

Sheen originally filed the motion to modify the child support order in December 2019, but Richards did not file any objection papers.

She claimed in the removed Instagram post that she lives in an “abusive household,” adding that she was “insanely depressed” while sharing a photo of herself from a year ago.
Sami also shared a photo from today in which she explained that she had moved out of the “hell house” and had a “spiritual awakening,” while also confirming that she had dropped out of high school.
Earlier this month, Sheen revealed that he is on good terms with Richards.
“We’re totally friendly,” Charlie told People. “We’ve been through so much shit together that I don’t think any of us have the strength to divide anymore.”
“The only thing that matters is the kids,” Charlie added. “We knew we had to put our nonsense behind us and focus on the kids because they had nothing to do with our crap.”
The actor continued that their daughters were always the center of attention, despite the heated feuds between the parents, which he described as the “hottest parts of the depths of the inferno.”
