Colorado: Shooting leaves one dead and three injured on Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve in Colorado was bloody as a shooting at a mall left one person dead and three seriously injured on Sunday afternoon.

It all started when a fight broke out between two groups of people at the Citadel Mall in Colorado Springs, about 100 miles south of Denver.

The situation quickly escalated and gunfire erupted in which a man, whose age was not given, was fatally shot, the New York Post reported on Monday.

Two other men were seriously injured by at least one bullet, and a woman with minor injuries was taken to hospital.

Several suspects were arrested by police, who “need to determine their involvement,” the Colorado Springs City Police Department said.

“The situation is contained and there is no ongoing threat to the community,” local police said on the social networking platform X (formerly Twitter).

As it was very busy on the occasion, the mall was evacuated and investigators were sent to the scene to analyze the scene, the same source added.
