A digital influencer from Hawaii was shot dead by her exhusband in front of their young daughter. Theresa Cachuela, 33, was shot in the head by Jason Cachuela, 44, in a parking lot in Honolulu County on Monday morning (Dec. 25).
According to the New York Post, the influencer's daughter, who witnessed her mother's death, is between 6 and 8 years old. She claims Jason pulled the trigger and then killed himself. Police are investigating the deaths as murder/suicide.
“This was not a random act as the victim and the suspect were involved in a relationship. We know he had a protective order filed against him, which is why this case was classified as firstdegree murder,” police Lt. Deena Thoemmes said in a statement to the Hawaii Tribune.
Theresa's death came two weeks after she asked her exhusband for protection. She had almost 20,000 followers on her Instagram profile, where she promoted her beauty products. In addition to being an influencer, she was also a businesswoman and mother of three.
