In 2020, John and Melody Hennessee sold almost everything they owned and then bought a travel trailer to travel around the United States.

One day John got tired of driving; He and his wife then saw an ad on Facebook for a 274-day cruise with the Royal Caribbean Company. At this point they decided to take up life at sea permanently.

The duo is currently in Republic of Dominica as part of one of the many long cruises they have been on. In addition to the Caribbean, they primarily visited the coasts of Australia and New Zealand as well as the South Pacific.

This lifestyle is not only exciting, but also cheaper, claim the two older ones.

“Now we have a phone bill, the cruise bill and a few credit card accounts that we use on layovers, but that's it,” says John Hennessee.

“We no longer have a mortgage and no longer have to spend on our house. We no longer have car or home insurance or utility bills,” he adds.

According to the retreat, the couple's current expenses are about half of what they spent while living on the mainland.

Your cruise schedule is currently fully booked through December 2024. After this date, they plan to reserve a place on the company boat Villa Vie for a three-year voyage!

The ship, whose construction is not yet complete, will be 30% inhabited by permanent residents.

“We want to buy a cabin that we can design according to our wishes. “This will probably be our home for at least 15 years,” Melody Hennessee said.
