Last night the bodies of five people were found in an apartment in the northern French town of Meaux and an investigation into voluntary murder was launched. This was announced by Jean-Baptiste Bladier, public prosecutor of the municipality of the Ile-de-France region.
According to local media, the victims are a woman and her four small children. The alleged suspect is the father of the family, who is currently on the run. Bladier will hold a press conference on the case today. The investigation was entrusted to the Versailles criminal investigation department.
This would be another multiple infanticide committed by a father in the last three months in Ile-de-France, in the Paris region. At the end of November, a 41-year-old man went to a police station to confess to the murder of his three daughters, aged between 4 and 11, in Alfortville, Val de Marne. A month earlier, a gendarme killed his three daughters and then committed suicide in his home in Vemars in the Oise Valley.
