After weeks of silence, Russian opponent Alexei Navalny spoke out this Tuesday (26) for the first time after being transferred to a penal colony in the Arctic Circle.
“Don’t worry about me, I’m fine. Thank you again to everyone for your support,” the politician wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Navalny, who was sentenced to 19 years in prison for “extremism”, spent three weeks without revealing any news and his whereabouts, the city of Kharp, were only discovered last Monday (25).

“Unfortunately there are no reindeer here, but there are huge, fluffy and very beautiful sheepdogs,” the politician added, saying he arrived at the penal colony on the night of Saturday (23).
