Rio Inês Oliveira, mother of Jéssica Canedo, a 22yearold who died after being identified by gossip profiles on Instagram as having an affair with Whindersson Nunes, spoke for the first time about the loss of her daughter and called for justice in an interview with “Cidade Alerta Minas”, from TV Paranaíba, affiliated with Record TV.
“She came here crying: ‘Mom, ask her to stop because I can’t take it. Do something, Mom.' What could I do? I just recorded a video asking them to stop for God's sake. According to Inês, her daughter had just graduated from high school and had been suffering from depression for some time. “The girl was already feeling bad, guys, she was already sick. “She immediately lay in that room. Everyone here is a witness, the neighbors, the brotherhoods that belong to my church. They came to visit, everyone prayed for them. She went through this very difficult time, this depression, you know? And I argued, day after day… They went to my Instagram, took a photo of her, took a screenshot of my Instagram… They lied that she was having an affair with the boy, even though my daughter was having one with me don't even have social media. She spoke to me on the phone, not even on WhatsApp… Even with a health problem, I spent sleepless nights taking care of her and watching her so that she didn't do anything. The young woman's mother demanded justice. “All I want is for someone to do justice and show that there is still justice in Brazil so that no mother has to go through what I am going through, the pain of losing her daughter in this way. That's all I have to say.”, done.
