Kevin Costner left the beaches of Santa Barbara for a pre-Christmas trip to distant shores with some friends, photos obtained by show.
The Yellowstone actor was seen driving into a private airport in Santa Barbara in a dark Ford pickup truck with two large surfboards strapped to the roof.
Wearing rock sunglasses, a black shirt, blue jeans and camel-colored cowboy boots, the relaxed-looking 68-year-old arrived on the tarmac early Saturday morning where his sleek private jet was waiting.
He jumped out of the vehicle with two pieces of luggage and unloaded the surfboards before strolling to the plane with two male friends who arrived separately.

There was no sign of singer Jewel, who Costner was reportedly dating in recent weeks following a messy divorce.
“He just looked like a movie star when he got out of that big black truck and got on his private plane,” a woman who was at the scene on Saturday told , coaxing one of her screen idols to do so Oscar won Dances with Wolves. “Everyone said, 'Oh, look!'
“The man looks really good for his age, like a real cowboy in that monster truck and those boots,” she gushed.
“He just looked happy and in a good mood to be away with his friends for a few days.”
The woman at the scene said the truck appeared to be brand new and was a larger version of a truck that she said his 16-year-old son, Cayden, had been driving around Santa Barbara recently.
“These are her new Christmas toys,” she said.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Costner and Jewel, 49, were dating after a photo emerged showing the couple getting very close on Richard Branson's Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands.

The 68-year-old actor and his 19-year-old wife Christine Baumgartner were embroiled in a months-long legal battle that only ended in September.
Kevin was completely blindsided when Christine, 49, filed for divorce in May.
Now that Costner has moved on, Christine said she “could never have imagined him and Jewel being together, but in hindsight it makes sense,” friends told earlier this month.
“They’re both into music, the cowboy thing.” What’s not to like about her? At least Jewel is a down-to-earth person and does her own thing,” our source said.
“Christine said the last thing she wanted was for some fame-seeker to come along and play mother to her three children. But Jewel has a son of her own, she has her own life and is not a gold digger. So that’s a relief.”
Christine and Kevin share three children: Cayden (16), Hayes (14) and Grace (13).
Jewel's son Kase, 12, who she shares with her professional cowboy ex-husband Ty Murray, also appeared to be on the trip to Branson's luxurious island.
TMZ shared pictures showing Kevin's arms around Jewel's waist as she speaks into a microphone.
They appeared very flirtatious and were smiling from ear to ear as they were on the island for a tennis fundraiser for Jewel's Inspiring Children Foundation.
A source told TMZ, “There was definitely something going on.” They were flirtatious, and when they were together it was like they were both just on fire.

It was also reported that Jewel has been “picky about who she dates so far” but that Kevin was “the one” following her split from Murray in 2014.
Costner's ex-wife says it's “bittersweet” that her Yellowstone actor ex is dating just three months after finalizing their contentious divorce.
But Baumgartner says it could have been worse, as she told a friend that the last thing she wanted was a fame-seeking hussy coming along and playing mother to her kids.
“Christine said she wasn't surprised Kevin moved on so quickly, but he didn't have to make it so obvious by wrapping his arms around her,” a close friend tells .
The source added that Christine was relieved that Costner wasn't dating a “fame seeker” and that Jewel seemed like a “down-to-earth person.”
“She said she's happy for him, but it's still not a great feeling seeing your ex with someone new,” the friend said.
Jewel fits Kevin's type: blonde and young. He also had romances with blondes Elle Macpherson, Joan Lunden and Cheryl Teigs and of course with his ex-wife Christine.

In July, Christine was evicted from the couple's $145 million mansion and moving vans were seen outside.
In her testimony on the first day of her divorce hearing, Baumgartner said she needed more money to provide a proper home for her three children.
She said her $40,000-a-month rental in Montecito didn't compare to the family's villa and complained that her sons had to share a bathroom.
During his testimony, Kevin apologized to his estranged wife, saying, “I want to help, but the thought of things getting blown up to the point where I can't do what I want to do… Somehow we have it in this unusual world “Didn't manage it and I'm sorry for that.”
The court also heard details of the family's lavish spending – which totaled $240,000 a month in 2022.
Expenses included $40,000 spent each month on flowers and gifts alone, although Kevin's forensic accountant Tracy Katz pointed out that the total applies to the entire family, including Christine.
The couple has reached an agreement, and it will likely be similar to what Kevin previously offered in a June 30 letter, which would have paid her $75,000 a month in alimony.
