After an order for more than R$1,200 for a dinner Christmas Via delivery app, influencer and businessman Felipe Neto showed his annoyance at not having eaten a meal on Monday evening (25). The YouTuber told the story on his profile on the social network X, formerly Twitter.

According to a transcript shared by Felipe, the order was placed at 7:27 p.m. and confirmed that same minute by the restaurant that would prepare the meal. It was estimated that delivery would take up to an hour and 40 minutes, but after two hours and 20 minutes the delivery was still listed as “in preparation.”

In a second post, Felipe said that his friends went to the restaurant to pick up the order but the place was closed. According to the influencer, the dinner would be for him and 14 other people.

“So my friends physically went to the restaurant to demand our order. And that was it [imagem que informa que o restaurante estava fechado] that they met. We ran out of Christmas dinner. Is this how the app works? They took my money and didn’t even open the door!” he complained.

Eventually, the restaurant's marketing coordinator contacted Felipe Neto and said that the fault was not with the establishment he worked for, but solely with the app.

“December 25th is the only day of the year we are closed. What happened is that iFood automatically opened our store without our permission or authorization,” the employee reported.

Ultimately the amount was returned to Felipe Neto's account. The delivery app had not commented on the case until the publication of this report.
