The Venezuelan rapper Tyrone González, widely known in the artistic world as Canserbero, he didn't commit suicide. He also did not take the life of his friend, the musician Carlos Molnar. Both were murdered by Molnar's partner and the artist's manager, Natalia Améstica, who was assisted by her brother Guillermo.
This emerges from the shocking, very harsh confession that Natalia made to the Ministry of State of Venezuela, the body that published the statement on Tuesday, December 26, 2023.
The two men were sedated with a drug called Alpram and then killed. The woman explained that her brother came with some police officers to arrange the crime scene so that everything looked like a murder-suicide.
The double crime was recorded in January 2015 in an apartment in Maracay, Aragua state, near Caracas.
This gross confession has major implications inside and outside the country. In October of this year, Rolling Stone magazine recognized the Venezuelan artist as the first on the list of the 50 greats in the history of Spanish rap.
The investigation
On November 11, 2023, the Attorney General of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, announced via his X account (formerly Twitter) that he had asked not to close the investigation into these deaths.
Saab announced that the Canserbero case would be reopened to respond to the “outcry from family and friends,” EFE reported.
They are investigating the deaths of two Venezuelan artists
As head of the MP, he announced that day that several investigative procedures would be ordered “immediately”, including the “technical inspection of the venue”, the “planimetric survey”, several summonses of “eyewitnesses and clues” and the “evaluation of the autopsy protocol for Reviewing the feasibility of exhuming the musician's body.
EFE recalled that in 2015 it was reported that “Tirone González fell from the tenth floor and died shortly after the host of the apartment where he lived in Aragua, also a musician Carlos Molnar, was stabbed and killed.”
The former manager's harsh confession
Natalia Améstica said in the recording that she gave them tea with Alpram to calm them down. He told how he first stabbed Carlos Molnar and later attacked Canserbero.
“He stabbed Molnar in the jugular, then stabbed him again on the ground. Canserbero falls asleep on the furniture and she takes advantage and stabs him too. “She says that she committed this double murder on January 19 at nine o’clock at night,” said prosecutor Saab, quoted by El Universal.
“I was in the kitchen and when Carlos arrived I saw how he was doing and attacked him straight in the neck. Fall to the ground. I attacked him from behind and on the arm, it's Tyrone who sees me and he's very worried, but he was also sleepy (…) I explain to him that it was a tantrum, that I couldn't control myself And he also falls asleep on the couch and that’s when I stab him twice in the side,” Améstica said.
“Not knowing what to do, I frantically called my brother Guillermo to help me resolve this situation. “He arrived at 11:00 p.m. at night, accompanied by three officers of the Sebin (Bolivarian Intelligence Service), whose names I don't know, and they arranged the crime scene so that it was a murder-suicide,” said the former manager register.
When his brother Guillermo arrived, whom he asked for help, he came with three officers from Sebin (Bolivarian National Intelligence Service), to whom he had given $10,000.
“They're done stabbing Carlos, my brother Guillermo is stabbing him four times. Sebin did the rest.
“Tyrone’s body was taken into the kitchen, his washcloth was removed and he was hit in the face with a pipe. Guillermo is the one who does it and they explain to us what we had to do, which was to throw him out of the window (10th floor) to end the murder-suicide scene,” the former manager added.
Why was Canserbero killed?
According to the review The universalIn the confession video, Améstica says that she murdered Carlos Molnar (her partner) and Canserbero because days before “she had organized a trip to Chile and her husband had informed her that they would not pay her,” and, moreover, The Rapper had explains that he doesn't want her to continue being his manager.
Imprisoned
There are currently six detainees and other fugitives with an arrest warrant, said prosecutor Saab.
“We have issued an arrest warrant against the following officers: Chief Inspector Gilbert Cruz (Head of the Commission); Inspector Edgar Trillo (investigator); Detective Jesús Medina (technician); Officer Arquelis Blanco (previously member of the Service Commission in the CICPC).
From the Aragua Criminalistics Laboratory Commission, which also dealt with the site: Assistant Inspector Teresa Pinto and Detective Yonel Toro. A seventh officer involved died in 2018 while on duty,” explained Tarek William Saab.
The arrest warrant against these officials “concerns the offenses of obstruction of the administration of justice, faking a criminal act, association to commit a crime and serious corruption.”
Likewise, he explained: “We have requested an arrest warrant against Solángela Mendoza, the pathologist who carried out the forensic autopsy of Tyrone González and Carlos Molnar.” As have the prosecutors involved.”
Saab stressed: “I would like you to explain to me why a professional pathologist did not report two stab wounds during the autopsy nor the blow to Canserbero's face that Guillermo gave him.”
