US police are investigating threats against the judges responsible following an explosive verdict against former US President Donald Trump in the state of Colorado. “The FBI is aware of the situation and is working with local authorities,” CNN cited an FBI statement.
A Denver police spokesperson told Axios that they were investigating incidents against Colorado Supreme Court justices. The police are carrying out “additional patrols of judges’ residences”.
Supreme Court removes Trump from Colorado vote
The Colorado Supreme Court ruled last week that Trump was unfit to serve as president due to his role in the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021. That's why his name should not appear on voting ballots in the state. The last word has not yet been said here. The case will likely end up in the Washington Supreme Court. But for Trump and his supporters, the decision was a major defeat.
Trump wants to return to the White House for the Republicans after the 2024 presidential elections. But the 77-year-old has to fight on several legal fronts. He will probably face four criminal trials in the election year, for example due to his attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. He lost to Democrat Joe Biden at that time, but to this day he does not recognize his defeat and spreads the lie about electoral fraud.
