A driver involved in a swerving maneuver in the Laurentians on Christmas Eve seriously injured a child and who had recently lost his license for drunk driving faces serious charges.

Alexandre Miron is accused of driving in a physically negligent manner, failing to comply with the rules and obstructing the work of peace officers.
At around 5:45 a.m. on December 24, the 29-year-old man lost control of his vehicle on Highway 15 in Sainte-Adèle before overturning.
Rescue pliers were required to free the small child on board from the car.
The toddler suffered serious injuries, but his life was not in danger, reported the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
Ban
The driver, who was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, was arrested and taken to the police station, where he refused to take a breathalyzer test.
Anyone who violated the curfew went to jail at the start of the holiday season.
You should know that Miron, who has appeared in court several times over the past decade, has just been punished by the authorities.

Last September, the Canadian court handed him a one-year driving ban and a $1,500 fine after he pleaded guilty to driving under the influence.
He was most recently sentenced to several months in community prison for drug offenses at the end of November.
Sanctions
According to research by Le Journal, Alexandre Miron has also been sanctioned several times in a city court over the years.
The resident of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts was arrested, among other things, while driving despite sanctions and because he made a false statement to an official.
In this new case, the young offender is expected to return to the Saint-Jérôme court shortly for another trial.
The SQ was unable to provide an initial assessment of its impaired driving interventions on Tuesday morning for the start of the end-of-year celebrations.
According to 2022 statistics from the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ), between 2016 and 2020, 85 people died and 200 others were seriously injured due to drunk driving.
