He steals a vehicle and collides with several police cars

An American repeat offender was arrested in Maryland after causing a spectacular crash in a stolen vehicle involving several cars, four of which belonged to police.

The suspect in a 2011 Hyundai Tiburon was seen damaging several cars outside a fast food chain on Branch Avenue on Friday.

The driver then crashed into a sedan in which a man and a 6-year-old child were traveling.

At least one police officer was injured in the collision involving four Marlow Heights police vehicles, the New York Post reported, citing the FOX 5 network.

A passenger in the stolen vehicle threw herself to the ground before telling police she had nothing to do with the affair.

The car was stolen from a woman living in southeast Washington, said Lt. Moses Edwards of the Marlow Heights Police Department.

The homeowner, who had a previous vehicle theft, told FOX 5 that the suspect broke into her home before she started the car without her keys.

The increasing theft of vehicles in this US state is worrying the authorities, who are failing to curb this phenomenon.
