Russian attack on train station leaves one dead and four injured in Kherson Euronews

A Russian attack on a train station in Kherson, southern Ukraine, left one person dead and four injured. The station had around 140 people.

A Russian bomb attack hit a train station in Kherson, southern Ukraine, on Tuesday, leaving at least one dead and four injured.

Ukraine's interior minister said civilians were preparing to leave the city when the Russian attack took place.

“Kherson at night. About 140 civilians waited at a train station for an evacuation convoy. And that was the moment when the enemy began massive shelling of the city,” Igor Klymenko wrote on Telegram.

Two of the injured were civilians who were hit by shrapnel. The other two injured people are police officers.

The fatal victim was a police officer from the Kirovohrad region who was injured in the Russian attack but succumbed to his injuries.

On Tuesday, the Ukrainian army announced that air force personnel had destroyed a warship in the port of Theodosia in Crimea.

In his evening address on Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky conveyed his “special thanks” to the Ukrainian Air Force for their “good work.”

The Kremlin also confirmed on Tuesday that a Russian ship was damaged in a Ukrainian attack on annexed Crimea. The Ukrainian army claims to have “destroyed” the ship.

According to Ukrainian authorities, the ship was loaded with Iranianmade Shahed drones, which have been widely used by Moscow in the conflict.

According to the Russian governor of the Crimean region, Sergei Aksionov, the attack also left one dead and two injured, as well as damage to six buildings.
