In the previous chapters, we witnessed Kuma's final sacrifice for Bonney and discovered how he lost his memories. But now that the flashback was over, we returned to Egghead's current timeline.
Before Kuma's flashback began, Bonney's life was in grave danger. With the Straw Hat crew unable to move and Luffy exhausted after his fight against Kizaru, there is only one person left who can come to the young pirate's aid: Kuma.

The true nature of Bonney's devil fruit power
It is then revealed that Bonney's Toshi Toshi no Mi power was given to her by Saturn. In the past, Saturn has conducted experiments on humans to give them devil fruit powers using an extracted medicine, thereby preventing them from actually eating the fruit.

Saturn gave this medicine to Ginney, Jewelry Bonney's mother, but unfortunately she contracted Sapphire Scale Disease as a side effect. However, he did not know that the power of the devil fruit and sapphire scales would pass to his daughter Bonney.

We will also discover the true nature of Bonney's Devil Fruit's power. The latter is actually capable of transforming into any future version of herself she imagines (proving the fan theory about the power of imagination). However, the more knowledge she gains about her future self, the more limited her power becomes. Because of this, her Nika form becomes too weak to continue countering Saturn as Bonney struggles desperately and begins to doubt what she knows about Nika.
The saving arrival of Kuma in Chapter 1103 of One Piece
Near the end of the chapter, Saturn prepares to kill Bonney as she apologizes to her father (Kuma), believing that he is responsible for his decision to give up his life for that of the little girl.

But not all hope is lost. In an epic final scene, Kuma arrives on Egghead Island and destroys the Marines surrounding the group. He grabs Bonney with his hand and protects her from Saturn's attack with his body, then a terrible fight ensues.
The chapter ends with Kuma's face full of anger as he prepares to meet Saturn. Just before his fist hits him, the final image reveals the big villain's terrified face.
However, don't expect to see the sequel too quickly as there will be a new two-week break after Chapter 1103. So you have to be patient to witness the outbreak of Kuma's rage in the One Piece manga.
