Next year (in a few days) Samsung is expected to present the spearhead of its refrigerator range for 2024. This (very) high-end model will add AI to this model's 32-inch screen.

It is obviously a model that can be considered disproportionate with its four doors and its screen. The latter can also be used to display the content of your smartphone (if you have a Samsung Galaxy) but also that of your television (also Samsung). Like the 2023 model, it integrates cameras inside the refrigerator to analyze the contents and offer you recipes, but – this is one of the new features – it can now connect to Samsung Health (the equivalent of the Apple Health application) to adapt the recipes to your diet. In addition, a mode allows you to watch videos on YouTube or TikTok while reading a recipe or even iGeneration.
As our colleagues at The Verge suggest, there are some limitations: the cameras are “limited” to 33 types of food and therefore certain exotic products should slip through the cracks of the AI. Likewise, it is not yet possible to read expiration dates automatically, but it is possible to enter them manually to receive notifications. The device is apparently also Matter compatible (this is the case with the 2023 generation).
You may have only been joking so far, but the presence of cameras is not completely useless: refrigerators with an internal camera (or a transparent door, like LG) have the advantage of allowing you to check the contents without having to open the door, what a disadvantage is a clear advantage for food preservation.
The 2023 version (counts $5,000 excluding taxes)
Since this is a “pre-CES” announcement, don't expect any details about the fridge's main function before it's marketed: only the functions associated with the buzzword (AI) are important. To give you an idea of the budget needed, the 2023 version was released in late May for $5,000.
