In January 2022, we learned that Corey Graves had been given the green light by doctors to return to the ring if he wished. Great news for Corey Graves, who has been out of competition since 2014 after suffering a series of concussions on the NXT side.
Since then, Corey Graves has held a role as a commentator or interviewer for WWE and still has not returned to the ring. Does WWE have no plan for him in the ring or does Corey Graves just not want to be a wrestler again?
This week, Graves was interviewed for Steelers Takeaways and said that if he came back, it would only be for one night and not full time:
“I have a good health check today, thank you.” I actually received medical clearance to wrestle in the ring again a few years ago. I've been toying with the idea and am waiting for a possible opportunity if it arises. “More of a one-night stand like Pat McAfee than a full-time in-ring wrestler.”
Conclusion: Our man could always return to the WWE ring for an evening if the opportunity arises. It remains to be seen when that moment will arrive, as it could be a nice sendoff for Corey Graves, who never got the chance to get it right.
