The Voice Brasil comes to an end on Thursday evening (28) after 11 years on Globo with a fitting farewell to the audience in the greater São Paulo area.

The last season, presented by Fátima Bernardes since 2022, ends with an average of 17 viewer points in the greater São Paulo area, according to information from Q5. Each point corresponds to 207,000 viewers.

It is the highest rating for the reality show since the 2019 season, which ended with 25 points. Compared to last year, The Voice Brasil 2023 grew by 13.3% in terms of numbers.

Internally at Globo, the reality show's good performance is explained by two reasons. The first, of course, is the farewell season, which attracts part of the audience.

The second reason is the good ratings of “Terra e Paixão”, a soap opera that has become a reality show in the capital São Paulo with ratings of almost 30 points.

The decline in viewers and the associated effects in recent years were the main reasons for Globo's cancellation of The Voice Brasil.

Since debuting on Brazilian television in 2012, the show has had 22 editions. That's an average of two per year. In addition to the eleven traditional seasons, there were eight of The Voice Kids and two more of The Voice+ with older singers.

In 2023, The Voice Kids was shown in the first semester in addition to the traditional version. Voice+ has been cancelled.

Another factor that weighed was the low commercial demand for the traditional 2022 edition and this year's children's version.

Even with Fátima, The Voice 2022 only had two sponsors, a number that is considered low by Globo standards. The Voice Kids only had one, far fewer than in previous years.

Instead, Globo will show the reality show Estrela da Casa, which mixes lockdown with music. Registration is now open.
