Strong wave sweeps people away and leaves injured in the USA

A strong wave crossed the sandy strip and flooded an avenue in a city in California in the United States, injuring eight people. The case was registered on Thursday (28) in Ventura. See the moment in the video above.

The video shows the moment people were near the shore when the wave broke a barrier.

The images also show that some people tried to escape while others were eventually swept away by the water. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals.

The phenomenon was caused by storms in the Pacific Ocean. Stronger waves are forecast for this Friday (29th), which could reach up to 10 meters.

According to the city fire department, beaches in the area were closed for safety reasons. Authorities urged the population to avoid areas near the sea.

The flood also caused flooding in other parts of the city.
