An American Airlines plane crashed down a runway in London on Wednesday as it battled strong gusts that nearly carried it back into the sky.

The heartbreaking video shows the Boeing 777 swaying from left to right just a few hundred feet above the sidewalk at London Heathrow Airport as it attempts to land after a seemingly confident and effortless descent at 11:45 a.m.

The shaky plane's nose then raises itself level with its body before jumping straight back into the air, footage shared by Big Jet TV shows.

Somehow the pilots managed to bring the huge plane back to the ground and land it safely.

The 308-seat aircraft struggled with strong crosswinds and dense fog brought by Storm Gerrit, a supercell thunderstorm that caused widespread flooding, ripped roofs off homes and killed several people across the United Kingdom.

Despite strong winds that gusted up to 80 miles per hour in some areas, the American Airlines plane arrived at Europe's largest airport just 20 minutes late, according to FlightAware data.

It had made the 6,000-mile, nearly 11-hour journey from California when it encountered the eerie turbulence.

No injuries were reported in connection with the horrific touchdown.

However, Storm Gerrit later forced Heathrow to cancel 18 flights due to air traffic control restrictions on domestic routes. Flights to European cities such as Barcelona and Berlin were also affected.

The storm also caused widespread disruption to train services several hundred miles north in Scotland, where services were suspended on some routes until officials could carry out a full inspection of the network. A tree fell on a train and hit the driver's cab, but no one was injured.

American Airlines did not immediately respond to The Post's request for comment.
