At around 3:40 a.m., police officers were called to respond to a facility near the intersection of 17th Avenue and Rue Jean-Talon in the Saint-Michel neighborhood.
“According to initial information, there was a conflict between around five people inside. One of them then allegedly pulled out a sharp object and injured the victim,” said Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) spokesperson Officer Sabrina Gauthier.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening, the SPVM said.
Police reported no arrests early Friday morning as the suspects fled before police arrived.
The SPVM conducted an investigation, interviewing witnesses and examining surveillance cameras to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The victim must also be found during the day on Friday if his health permits.
Investigators and the forensic identification service were also called to the location where a security fence was erected.
