In a few weeks, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will finally be available, revealing the mysterious fate of a character everyone is dying to discover.
Naoki Hamaguchi, head of the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth project, confided to the Game Informer editorial team a few weeks ago that it was “the video game in which he has the most confidence,” and even added that “people have lost their minds will lose because of what happened,” particularly because of a particular moment in this adventure “where everyone was stunned.” Suffice it to say that fans are more excited than ever to discover the sequel to the epics of Cloud and his allies on February 29th on PS5. After escaping Midgar, the gang prepares to explore new open environments in search of Sephiroth, the game's iconic antagonist. The game was secretly shown during the prestigious Game Awards ceremony in a video highlighting the honor the musical theme as well as the persona of Aerith, suggesting that her role would have a special place in this new part.
In this regard, Hamaguchi recently admitted in an interview with 4gamer that one of his biggest wishes for 2024 is that fans of the series can see what “Aerith's fate” consists of. Remember that Aerith met an infamous end in the Forgotten Capital in the original SpoilShowHide, but it's hard to know what fate she will suffer in the remake's universe.
This work tells the story from the moment she flees Midgar to the Forgotten City, and I hope many players can witness Aerith's fate.
While it's a little difficult to understand what Naoki Hamaguchi is implying with this little joke, we're assuming it's definitely a big event for the character.
The most anticipated game of the year
Not surprisingly, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth won the most anticipated gaming title of 2024 during the Game Awards evening. Square Enix even took the opportunity to reveal new elements, such as the arrival of Cid Highwind, the famous mechanic who joins our group of heroes during the adventure. Remember that our journalist Jinxeb had the opportunity to play this sequel in preview and was very impressed by the experience: “This first exposure to Rebirth revealed the doors to a fabulous world and the improvement of a recipe that is in “Final Fantasy VII Remake has proven itself.” gives us the impression of marking the end of a prologue and the beginning of a magnificent adventure.”
