South Africa has appealed to the United Nations International Court of Justice to initiate proceedings against Israel. The appeal relates to the Convention against Genocide which Tel Aviv would have violated. In its application, South Africa states that “Israel's actions and omissions are genocidal in nature because they are based on the requisite specific intent…” to destroy the Palestinians of Gaza as part of a larger national group, “Racial and ethnic Palestinians,” the International Court of Justice in The Hague said in a statement. More than 21,000 people have died in the Gaza Strip since Israeli bombing began almost half were children. Around 200 Palestinians were killed in the last 24 hours alone. During Christmas there was a bomb attack on the al Maghzi refugee campin which around a hundred people died.

Today the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, said that the Israeli army fired at one of his convoys Aid in the Gaza Strip without causing any casualties. “Israeli soldiers fired on an aid convoy that was returning from the northern Gaza Strip and taking a route specified by the army. Our convoy leader and his team were not injured, but one vehicle was damaged,” said the UNRWA director in Gaza Thomas White to X. “Help workers should never be targets,” he added.
