A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after allegedly killing his parents and unsuccessfully attempting to murder his little sister.

Se Vang and her husband Lue Yang, both 37, were found dead in their remote rural home in Fresno County, California, on Wednesday evening.

The boy allegedly tried to kill his 11-year-old sister, but she is expected to recover from her injuries. Another brother, 7 years old, was also at home but was not injured.

He called 911 and claimed a burglar had broken into the home, killed his parents and attacked his sister before fleeing in a pickup truck, police said.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office said officers arrived at the scene on the 4700 block of Dunlap Road near Miramonte around 7:40 p.m.

They found the bodies of the parents and the injured girl, who was taken to the hospital, and spoke to the teenager.

Officers found inconsistencies in the boy's story and concluded he had made it up to cover his tracks.

The sheriff's office alleged he used multiple weapons to murder his parents and attempt to kill his sister.

The boy was arrested on suspicion of murder. He is not named because he is a minor.

There's more to come.
