Russian air strikes kill dozens in Ukraine
At least 30 people were killed and more than 160 injured in Ukraine in one of the largest Russian attacks since the war began nearly two years ago.
The Russians fired more than 150 rockets, hitting the cities of Kiev, Odessa, Dnipro, Kharkiv and Lviv.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights expressed shock and said international law prohibits the bombing of civilian areas.
The head of the Polish Armed Forces said a Russian missile passed through the country's airspace on its way to Ukraine.
Poland is part of NATO (an acronym for North Atlantic Treaty Organization), which provides for military responses in the event of an invasion of a member country.
According to a Russian news agency, Russia's chargé d'affaires in Warsaw responded that Poland had not provided any evidence of the territorial invasion.
The Secretary General of the Western Military Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, and US President Joe Biden said they were monitoring the situation.
The United Nations Security Council held an emergency meeting this Friday (29) to discuss the matter.
