The American government announced on Friday, December 29, that it had “urgently” approved the sale of $147.5 million worth of artillery ammunition to Israel without congressional approval. The American Secretary of State Antony Blinken concluded that “an emergency exists that requires this immediate sale to the Israeli government,” he explained in a press release from the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency, a federal agency particularly responsible for American military sales to foreign states is.
