The news of the death of Pedro Suárez-Vértiz reached South Korea, the home country of K-pop group W24, which covered the artist's classic “Cuéntame” a few months ago.
That's why, on the morning of December 29th, before Suárez-Vértiz's remains are cremated, the band dedicated an emotional publication to the late singer-songwriter.
“It hurt us a lot to hear the news about Mr. Pedro Suárez-Vértiz,” wrote the band on their Instagram account, which also took the opportunity to say goodbye to the musician.
In this way, the band at PSV highlighted their talent, their closeness and the joy they brought to their fans who were surprised by the news of their death.
“He was a musician, singer, composer, producer and author who created music that conveyed happiness and joy and encouraged many, especially us W24,” they added.
The band W24 then expressed their condolences to the family of Pedro Suárez-Vértiz as well as his friends and fans.
“We extend our condolences to Mr. Pedro’s family, friends and fans,” they said. “We would like to say once again that it was an honor to sing the song “Cuéntame,” they added.

Before releasing the cover of “Cuéntame,” a classical music theme by Pedro Suárez-Vértiz sung by South Korean K-pop band W24, the artist was grateful and amazed at the reach of his music.
“The president of my fan club, Vanny Olivos, tells me that this K-pop group called W24 has a singer who is my supporter and that's why they chose my song 'Cuéntame' as a single. I never thought about it. Life has surprises in store. “Life has surprises in store,” the singer wrote on Facebook, where he used to write frequently.
