The downfall of Irene (Gloria Pires) begins with the arrest of Antônio (Tony Ramos) in Terra e Paixão. She will try to flatter her husband, but will be upstaged by Marino (Leandro Lima), who warns her that the police station is not a hotel. He will then take the opportunity to question the lady about the death of Agatha (Eliane Giardini) and make her extremely nervous in Globo's nine o'clock soap opera.
At this point in the plot, Frazão (Álamo Facó) will have revealed that the dead woman would make a serious complaint to the press that night. He will eventually say that it was a crime committed by Irene. The public watching the series knows that Agatha found out that her rival had killed her own son Daniel (Johnny Massaro) when he tried to murder Caio (Cauã Reymond).
In Terra e Paixão, Antônio is arrested for the kidnapping of Aline (Barbara Reis). Irene will enter the police station as if she could talk to her husband the whole time. Marino will explain that she cannot see him because he is in a cell with other inmates.
“What do you mean other prisoners? I demand that he be placed in a special cell!” the housewife will shout. “According to what criteria would I put Doctor Antônio in a special cell? Her husband was always treated differently because he had power and money and also because everyone was afraid of him. But now things have changed and he will be treated with the strictness of the law,” the delegate will warn.
“You’ll regret this, Marino! You will regret it bitterly! Don't forget that Antônio has many influential friends! This arrest will lead to nothing, and the one who will be harmed will be you!”, the vixen will threaten. “He needs to take his blood pressure medication. Let me talk to him,” the rich woman will ask.
“This is not the time for a visit, Ms. Irene. A police station is not a hotel,” concludes the police chief. The tables will turn because he will say he needs to talk about another topic and will say:
I just found out through Agatha's then lawyer that the complaint concerned you. On the night of her death, Agatha wanted to reveal that Irene La Selva had committed a crime. What was this complaint? What was so serious about Agatha having to say something about you, Dona Irene?
Irene will say that she has no idea and that her rival was a woman of tricks. She'll try to list more suspects, but Marino will clip her wings. “You don’t need to give me this list, Ms. Irene. Just answer what I asked,” the police chief will say. The scenes are scheduled to be broadcast on Thursday (4).
Terra e Paixão was written by Walcyr Carrasco and Thelma Guedes. The story takes place in the fictional town of Nova Primavera in Mato Grosso do Sul. The storyline will remain on air until January 19th and will be replaced by the remake of Renascer (1993).
