“This is another Russian attack on the free press. We hope the injured colleagues recover quickly,” ZDF editor-in-chief Bettina Schausten was quoted as saying in a statement. According to information, the hotel is often used by foreign journalists as it has a bunker. The Russian army has repeatedly bombed hotels where journalists or volunteers stay, including in the cities of Kramatorsk, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro.

According to Ukrainian information, 28 people were injured in several rocket attacks in Kharkiv. The Russian Defense Ministry in Moscow confirmed the attack on the hotel. A military spokesman said on Sunday that the target was shot because representatives of the Ukrainian secret services planned to bomb the Russian city of Belgorod from there.
