'Yay! “I'm finally free”: Gypsy Rose Blanchard breaks her silence in first TikTok since being released from prison for orchestrating the murder of a Munchausen deputy

Gypsy Rose Blanchard posted her first TikTok post-prison after spending eight years behind bars for ordering her mother's death.

The 32-year-old prison vet proudly proclaimed her “freedom” – and announced her upcoming Lifetime docuseries and new book.

She continues to thank fans for their “support” days after her release from a Missouri prison.

While filming from her porch, Blanchard forgot to mention that she pleaded guilty in 2016 to second-degree murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard.

She was therefore only sentenced to ten years in prison, while her accomplice, a man she met on the Internet, was sentenced to life. That sentence is still being served, while Blanchard has since remarried.

Given her recent unique life experiences, she is now apparently pursuing a career as an influencer and took to TikTok on Sunday to make that fact known.

“Hello everyone, it's Gypsy,” the convicted murderer says in the minute-long clip, which has been viewed nearly three million times since 4 p.m.

“I’m finally free,” she adds, laughing briefly before addressing her 1.8 million followers directly.

“I just want to send a quick video to thank everyone for the tremendous support I've received on social media,” she continues.

“Everyone has been really, really nice and supportive and I really appreciate that.”

She continues, “It's good to be home, I'm back home in Louisiana, enjoying a beautiful day outside, and a lot of great things are going to happen soon.”

“I just released my documentary series – The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard – [and] I just released an e-book that I'm very proud of.

“It’s not a repeat of everything that happened,” she further emphasizes, before specifying: “It’s more of a reflection.”

She further reveals that the book, which is due out on January 9th, is called “Release: Conversations on the Eve of Freedom” and is already available for pre-order.

“You can pre-order now,” she says excitedly.

The memoir, she explains, consists of “everything.” [she’s] learned and experienced in the last eight and a half years,”

Blanchard is now married to Ryan Scott Anderson, whom she married behind bars in 2022. She had previously posted a picture of herself on Facebook smiling at her followers, who were graced with the caption “First selfie of freedom!” on Friday.

She was the subject of a bizarre media frenzy that spawned numerous documentaries and a Hulu series after she ordered her online boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn to stab her mother.

The teenager is believed to have suffered from one of the most well-known cases of Munchausen syndrome, where her mother insisted she was suffering from various made-up illnesses, leading to her undergoing painful surgeries and taking medication with unwanted side effects .

It was also alleged her mother kept her locked up and malnourished, and after meeting Godejohn online in 2012, she confided in him about her mother's obsessive and sadistic control over her and they began hatching a murder plan.

Dee Dee was found on the morning of June 14, 2015, after being stabbed 17 times in her sleep by Godejohn, who is currently serving a life sentence without parole.

Toward the end of her TikTok, Blanchard thanked those who had shown interest in her case — and then shyly urged them to move on.

“Thanks again for the support,” she says with a smile at the end of the clip.

“And keep watching.”
