Blanchard also shared a picture of herself kissing her husband Ryan Scott Anderson. The couple married in 2022, while Blanchard was still in prison.

Blanchard was released from Chillicothe Correctional Center on Thursday after serving eight years of a 10-year sentence for her role in the conspiracy to murder her mother.

She was convicted of second-degree murder in 2016. She persuaded an online friend to kill her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, after she allegedly forced her to pretend she suffered from leukemia, muscular dystrophy and other serious illnesses for years.

Her mother was found stabbed to death in her home in Springfield, Missouri, in June 2015.

According to experts, years of psychological and physical abuse as well as numerous unnecessary surgeries and medical tests are said to have caused Gypsy to want to kill her mother.

Dee Dee Blanchard, a single mother, was likely suffering from a mental illness called Munchausen syndrome by proxy (MSBP), which occurs when a person tries to cause psychological or physical symptoms in another person, according to health experts.

Experts believe Blanchard's mother, Claudine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, suffered from Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a mental illness in which one person – in this case Dee Dee – pretends another person – Gypsy – is sick for attention or receiving material things out of pity for the victim. “In the prison where I previously lived with my mother, I couldn’t walk. I couldn't eat. I couldn't have friends. I couldn't go outside and play with friends or anything like that,” Gypsy said during an ABC “20/20” interview in 2018. “Here I feel like I'm freer in prison than when I was in prison I live with my mother. Because now I can just… live like a normal woman.
