A tourist bus with Bosnian license plates left the road and overturned in San Donà di Piave, near Venice, at around 2:30 am on Monday. There were 79 passengers and two drivers in the vehicle. More than 30 of them were injured, but none seriously, authorities said.
The bus with Bosnian tourists was returning to Trieste after watching the New Year fireworks at Punta Sabbioni, near Venice. The firefighters, who arrived from Jesolo and Mestre, helped everyone who was still on the bus to get out of the vehicle. The injured were taken to the emergency room at Jesolo hospital and other hospitals in the region.
The uninjured were treated at the scene and then accompanied to Jesolo by a fire department bus. The accident vehicle was recovered by a road rescue service crane truck.
