Luann de Lesseps claims Ramona Singer has “no self-confidence” – Us Weekly

Luann de Lesseps calls out his former “Real Housewives of New York” co-stars Ramona Singer.

“Wishing you all a blessed and happy new year!!!” the 67-year-old singer captioned an Instagram post on Monday, January 1. In the photo, she poses in front of a fireplace in Beaver Creek, Colorado. A Native American portrait hangs above the mantel.

“Don’t you have confidence😮,” de Lesseps, 58, commented on the post, which drew a ton of responses from followers. Since then, there have been few comments on the post, but those that are visible are divided over Singer's photo.

De Lesseps' comment follows Singer's N-word scandal. Singer, who was a RHONY cast member from 2008 to 2021, was named in a Vanity Fair exposé on Bravo in October 2022. The article accused her of using the N-word in conversation with a black crew member. The incident apparently occurred during filming of Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy, which premiered last month.

According to screenshots of the apparent messages, Singer appeared to use the word a second time while texting a Page Six reporter about the allegations made against her. Following the scandal, Singer's name was removed from the list of BravoCon attendees and she was not present at the three-day convention in November 2023 in Las Vegas. (Singer's daughter Avery, 28, appeared at the event.)

At the time, a source told Us Weekly that Singer was “very upset” about the entire situation.

“She was distraught,” the insider added. “She’ll hold back now.”

The original source claimed that it was a “mutual decision” between Singer and Bravo that she would not attend the fan convention. “Ultimately, she decided she didn't want to go, and Bravo thought it was a good idea given what happened,” the source added.

The Real Housewives of New York City premiered in 2008, but not every housewife made it. The first season cast of RHONY included Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Bethenny Frankel, Jill Zarin and Alex McCord. While Kelly Killoren Bensimon joined the cast in the second season, Sonja Morgan became a full-time cast member during this season […]

A second insider told us that the network made the final decision about her appearance. “Ramona was told she wasn’t coming to BravoCon,” the source shared. “It wasn’t her decision not to participate.”

While Singer has become one of the most controversial RHONY alums over the years, De Lesseps has also had her moments in the past. Some fans raised eyebrows at her Instagram comment, citing her 2017 Halloween costume that was showcased during the Season 10 premiere of RHONY.

At that time, de Lesseps disguised himself as Diana Rossand was accused of blackface – allegations she denied.

“I'm horrified!” she said during a 2018 episode of “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.” “I never intended to hurt anyone's feelings. I love Diana Ross and I totally respect Diana Ross. It was really kind of a tribute to her and it was Halloween.”

She added: “I wore a bronzer, which I normally wear like the rest of my skin. I'm tanned, like I am now. So I didn't add anything and would never dream of doing blackface. I’m very sorry to everyone out there if I offended anyone.”

She also apologized in a social media statement at the time.

“I want to clear the air, I love and respect Diana Ross, this was my tribute to her, I show my sincere admiration,” she shared via X (formerly Twitter). “I haven’t changed my skin color in any way and I didn’t want to offend anyone.”
