On an episode of the SmartLess podcast, the Only Murders in the Building star admitted that she would rather “get involved” in an activity in the future.
“At first I really enjoyed the music, then it was really cool to go on tour. I was working on my series (Wizards of Waverly Place) at the same time and I really enjoyed it too, so I continued. But as I get older, I want to settle down,” she told hosts Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes, Deadline reported.
“I feel like I have one more album left in me and then I'll go for comedy,” she added.
The “Spring Breakers” star noted that she never intended to be a singer, but after she sang the theme from “Wizards of Waverly Place,” Disney asked her to record an album. “I wanted to be an actress, I never planned to be a full-time singer, but apparently this hobby developed into something else,” the young woman admitted. I don't think I'm the best singer, but I know how to tell stories and I love being able to do that in songs. »
Selena Gomez also opened up about the stress that touring caused her and the too much pressure that landed her in the hospital. “I wish I could relax because I'm tired,” she admitted. I went to a mental institution and canceled one of my tours. »
If she wants to focus on her career as an actress, Selena Gomez does not plan to give up her other very busy activities: producing series, running her cosmetics company Rare Beauty, philanthropic actions… and spending time with her new lover, Music producer Benny Blanco.
The SmartLess episode will air on January 8th but is already available to Wondery+ subscribers.
