The man who injured several people at Perry High School in Perry, Iowa this morning has died “from a self-inflicted gunshot.” Dallas County Sheriff Adam Infante said this during a press conference. Three people suffered gunshot wounds as a result of the shootingexplained Infante, specifying that they were two students and a school employee.
Class had not yet started at the time of the shooting, the sheriff said, adding that authorities arrived at the school within seven minutes of the report. The school is now “safe,” authorities said, in which he recounts the details of what happened on the first day of classes for the 1,785 students at Perry High School. At least five ambulances, several police units, rescue helicopters and firefighters were on site.
US President Joe Biden has been informed and is following developments of the shooting, a White House official told CNN. Senior White House officials, the official added, were in contact with Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds' office.
