North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and his daughter wore matching outfits as they toured a missile production facility, just days after he threatened to “destroy” the US and South Korea if provoked.
The chubby dictator and his daughter Kim Ju Ae, who many believe is Kim's likely successor, were both dressed all in black as they walked through the military facility, photos released by North Korean state media show on Thursday.
According to state media, Kim called for increasing production of various rocket launchers in the new year, claiming it was essential to deter the hermit kingdom from nuclear war.
At a meeting with officials from the country's ruling party last week, Kim said North Korea would expand cooperation efforts with “anti-imperialist independent” countries as it prepares for war, state news agency KCNA reported.

The despot also vowed to “completely destroy” the United States and rival South Korea if provoked – through the use of the hermit kingdom's nuclear arsenal, described as the “treasured sword.”
“If the enemy decides to engage in military confrontation, our army should without hesitation deliver a fatal blow to completely destroy him by mobilizing all the strongest means and capabilities,” Kim told the nation.
The threat came after a year in which North Korea tested its largest ballistic missile and launched its first reconnaissance satellite, as Pyongyang declared war was inevitable.
Kim's public appearance with his daughter also comes after U.S. officials revealed that Russia fired North Korean missiles into Ukraine in recent weeks. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby called it “a significant and concerning escalation.” [North Korea’s] Support for Russia.

Ju Ae, who is believed to be around 10 years old, came into the spotlight in November 2022 during an exercise to launch a nuclear-capable missile. She is believed to be the second – and favorite – of Kim Jong Un's three children.
Since then, Ju Ae has made a number of other public appearances – including drinking together, watching missile parades and dining with senior army commanders.
The family increased its profile by printing its face on five new government-issued stamps.
Her sudden rise has led to speculation that the North Korean dictator no longer relies heavily on his once-powerful sister Kim Yo Jong.
