Saltburn follows an apparently working-class Oxford University student from Merseyside, played by Barry, 31, who falls in love with upper-class student Felix, played by Jacob, 26.

Things end with a disturbing twist when the seemingly innocent Oliver turns out to be a vengeful mastermind who, over the course of several years, has not only killed Felix and his family in order to get their fortune – and the Saltburn villa.

Richard's success on the series comes after he revealed he “can't imagine falling in love again” following the death of his beloved wife Joan Washington.

Joan died in 2021 at the age of 74, just eight months after she was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer.

Late last year, Richard said he wrote to his late wife of 35 years every day because the thought of her not being here was unbearable.

The actor, who is the new voice of The Wombles, added that while he tried to date Joan, “no one else came close to Joan.”

Speaking about his grief, Richard told The Telegraph: “I have now accepted that I will never understand it. Trying to imagine not being here is beyond my imagination.”

“So every night I write Joan a letter about what's going on, and I feel like I'm having a physical, tangible, ongoing conversation with her that's being written down. I found that really, really helpful…” .

“Do you have any inkling of what she might think about this, or what is her opinion on it? Even the most mundane things.”

Richard said that in the two years since Joan's death, his friends had set him up on blind dates, but he had no plans to meet anyone.

“I think the extraordinary thing about her is that I felt like I was really seen and understood by another human being in a way that no one ever has before,” he said.

Ant & Dec's Limitless Win starts on Saturday January 6th at 8.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX
